The Warning, the explosive all-female rock trio from Monterrey, Mexico, began their meteoric rise in the world of rock music with an origin story rooted in youth, family, and raw passion. The band is made up of three sisters: Daniela (Dany) Villarreal (born January 30, 2000), Paulina (Pau) Villarreal (born February 5, 2002), and Alejandra (Ale) Villarreal (born December 13, 2004). When they first captured the world’s attention, Dany was only 14, Pau 12, and Ale a mere 9 years old.
Their journey began in their family home, where music was a shared passion. Influenced by rock legends like Metallica, Queen, and Muse, the sisters began learning instruments at a young age, Dany on guitar and vocals, Pau on drums and vocals, and Ale on bass. What started as innocent jamming sessions soon turned into something much bigger.
The turning point came in 2014 when they posted a cover of Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” on YouTube. Their performance stunned viewers around the globe. It wasn’t just the technical skill that shocked audiences, it was the energy, confidence, and chemistry of three incredibly young musicians playing with the intensity of seasoned pros. The video went viral, eventually catching the attention of Metallica themselves.
At the time of their viral success, Dany was 14, Pau 12, and Ale 9. Yet they played with the fury of lifelong rock veterans. Rather than settling for internet fame, the sisters doubled down on their commitment to music. They crowdfunded their first EP, Escape the Mind, in 2015 and then went on to release their debut full-length album XXI Century Blood in 2017.
As they matured, so did their sound, blending progressive rock, alternative, and hard rock into a powerful and unique voice. What makes their story remarkable is that they didn’t come from a music industry background or large record label. Their rise was entirely fueled by talent, determination, and a deep sisterly bond.
Now in their 20s, The Warning continues to evolve as one of the most electrifying young bands in rock today. What started as three kids jamming in their living room has become a global movement, a warning to the world that rock is not only alive, it’s being led by three fearless sisters who began chasing their dream before they were even teenagers.
