After an intense stretch of touring and creative output, Slipknot are easing off the gas, but according to percussionist and creative mastermind Shawn Crahan, the band’s next chapter is already beginning to take shape.
Crahan, better known to fans as Clown, recently revealed that while Slipknot are currently taking a well-earned breather, new material is quietly in the works. The downtime, he explained, is less about stepping away and more about recalibrating after a transformative period for the band.
Following the release of The End, So Far and a demanding global tour cycle, Slipknot have been navigating both professional evolution and personal transitions. In recent years, the Iowa metal juggernaut has experienced lineup changes and the departure from longtime label Roadrunner Records, signaling a new era of independence and reinvention.
Now, with space to reflect, Crahan says creativity is once again flowing. Though he stopped short of offering concrete timelines, he confirmed that ideas are being developed and that the band’s signature intensity remains intact.
