In a heartfelt message to fans and former bandmates, longtime Guns N’ Roses drummer Frank Ferrer has officially confirmed his departure from the legendary rock group. After more than a decade of contributing to the band’s iconic sound and high-octane live shows, Ferrer opened up about his exit, expressing both gratitude and disappointment as his tenure comes to a close.
Ferrer, who joined Guns N’ Roses in 2006 during a tumultuous period in the band’s history, became a mainstay behind the drum kit, touring extensively and performing on 2008’s Chinese Democracy as well as numerous global tours. His presence offered a sense of stability during lineup changes and helped fuel the band’s resurgence in the 2010s.
In a statement shared on social media, Ferrer thanked front man Axl Rose, Slash, Duff McKagan, and the rest of the crew for what he described as “an unforgettable ride.” He emphasized his appreciation for the fans who have supported the band through decades of evolution.
“I want to express my deepest gratitude to the Guns N’ Roses family,” Ferrer wrote. “Playing alongside such legendary musicians and being part of the GN’R legacy has been an honor I’ll carry with me forever. To the fans—thank you for the love, the energy, and the memories.”
Despite his gracious tone, Ferrer did not shy away from acknowledging the emotional weight of the moment. “While I understand that changes happen in this business, I can’t pretend I’m not disappointed. I gave everything I had to this band and truly hoped to see things through longer.”
The departure appears amicable, though neither the band nor Ferrer has elaborated on specific reasons behind the lineup shift. Rumors of changes began swirling after Ferrer was absent from recent shows, with session drummer Brian “Brain” Mantia briefly stepping in.
Ferrer’s departure marks another chapter in Guns N’ Roses’ long and often dramatic history of lineup changes. While fans will undoubtedly miss his energetic performances and solid rhythm work, speculation is already building about what’s next—for both the band and Ferrer himself.
As of now, Ferrer has not announced any new projects, but he hinted at continuing his musical journey. “This isn’t the end for me—it’s just the end of a beautiful chapter,” he added. “See you all on the road soon.”
