Disturbed frontman David Draiman has confirmed that fans of the multi-platinum metal band can expect a steady flow of new music over the next two years, and, according to him, the band isn’t planning to play it safe.
Speaking during a recent interview, Draiman revealed that the Chicago heavyweights are already working on fresh material following the success of their 2022 album Divisive. While the band has been busy touring in support of that record, Draiman said they’ve been simultaneously writing and experimenting with ideas that will surprise even longtime fans.
“We’ve got a slew of new material that we’re planning to release over the next couple of years,” Draiman said. “There’s definitely some surprises to come. We’re not done evolving, far from it.”
The Divisive era marked a strong return for Disturbed, blending the band’s trademark aggression with melodic depth and powerful themes of unity and resilience. Tracks like “Hey You” and “Bad Man” showcased their ability to deliver both anthemic hooks and socially charged lyrics, something Draiman says will continue to define their next phase.
“Every time we go back into the studio, we want to push ourselves,” he explained. “We want to take what makes Disturbed who we are, but still explore new territory, musically, emotionally, and lyrically. The fans deserve that.”
Draiman hinted that the upcoming material may not follow the traditional album cycle. Instead, Disturbed could embrace a more flexible release strategy, putting out singles, EPs, or collaborative tracks more frequently, a move that mirrors how many modern rock acts are adapting to the streaming era.
“The way people consume music has changed,” Draiman added. “We want to stay connected with our fans year-round. You’ll definitely be hearing from us a lot more often.”
With Disturbed still commanding arenas worldwide and Draiman’s voice as powerful as ever, the band’s next chapter looks to be both prolific and unpredictable.
“We’ve got some really exciting stuff cooking,” Draiman teased. “All I can say is: be ready.”
The message is clear, Disturbed aren’t slowing down. Instead, they’re preparing to ignite a new creative surge, one that promises to keep the band’s unmistakable sound alive while venturing into bold new directions.
