Football fans across the globe can officially begin the countdown to another exciting campaign after the Premier League confirmed key dates for the 2026/27 season.

The full fixture list for the new season will be released on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 10:00 BST, when supporters will discover their clubs’ opening-day opponents, derby clashes, festive schedules, and crucial run-ins.
The 2026/27 Premier League season is scheduled to begin on Saturday, August 22, 2026, with the opening weekend marking the start of another 38-game battle for domestic glory. The campaign will conclude on Sunday, May 30, 2027, when all final-day fixtures will kick off simultaneously.
Unlike previous years, the new season will start one week later than usual. Premier League officials explained that the adjustment was made to support player welfare following the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which ended in July. The revised calendar provides players with additional recovery time before returning to club football.
The league has also confirmed that the season will feature 33 weekend rounds and five midweek rounds, while efforts will be made to avoid clashes with UEFA competitions. During the busy Christmas and New Year period, no two rounds of fixtures will be played within 60 hours of each other, helping to reduce player workload.
Excitement is already building ahead of the fixture release, especially with newly promoted sides Coventry City, Ipswich Town, and Hull City joining the Premier League lineup for the upcoming campaign.
With title contenders, European hopefuls, and relegation battles set to unfold once again, the release of the fixture list will offer supporters their first glimpse of the road ahead in what promises to be another dramatic Premier League season.
