Brazilian death metal powerhouse CRYPTA have announced the departure of guitarist Jéssica di Falchi, marking the end of her tenure that began in 2022. The band revealed the news on March 10, confirming that her exit was “by mutual agreement,” and emphasizing that “the decision came from her, and was respected and accepted by the band.”
Di Falchi joined CRYPTA following the band’s debut album Echoes of the Soul, bringing her own technical edge and stage presence to their fiery blend of death and blackened metal. During her time with the group, she contributed to their live performances across several tours, helping solidify the band’s reputation as one of the most dynamic forces in the modern extreme metal scene.
In an official statement, CRYPTA expressed gratitude for her time and dedication:
“We thank Jéssica for everything she has done for the band and wish her all the best in her future musical endeavors.”
Though no replacement has yet been announced, the band assured fans that their momentum will continue strong as they move forward with upcoming projects and live commitments.
CRYPTA, formed in 2019 by former Nervosa members Fernanda Lira (vocals/bass) and Luana Dametto (drums), alongside guitarists Tainá Bergamaschi and, until now, Jéssica di Falchi, have rapidly become one of the most acclaimed acts in contemporary death metal. Their sophomore album Shades of Sorrow (2023) received praise for its ferocity, atmosphere, and musicianship, solidifying their status on the global metal stage.
As di Falchi departs to pursue new paths, CRYPTA remain steadfast in their mission: pushing the boundaries of death metal with raw energy, precision, and passion.
