The Mammoth WVH frontman, who spent two years touring alongside Metallica on their massive M72 World Tour, was recently recognized by the metal icons with a tongue-in-cheek but heartfelt honor: a “Perfect Attendance Award.”
Presented near the close of the 2024 run, the award celebrated Wolfgang and his band Mammoth WVH for performing at every single venue across both the 2023 and 2024 legs of Metallica’s global trek, no cancellations, no missed flights, no skipped gigs. In the unpredictable world of touring, that’s no small feat.
A Nod From The Titans
Metallica frontman James Hetfield reportedly handed Wolfgang the framed certificate backstage before the band’s final show of the tour, calling it a symbol of professionalism, consistency, and pure love for the road. “The guy never missed a show,” Hetfield said with a grin. “Rain, shine, jet lag, didn’t matter. That’s rock ’n’ roll discipline right there.”
Drummer Lars Ulrich echoed the sentiment, adding that Mammoth WVH were “the definition of reliable and inspiring openers.” “They didn’t just show up,” Ulrich said. “They delivered every night.
